Within the last 2 years the founder of DepotEco and Green Online Products.com has been working away to create this wonderful example of a true working green home. A four-bedroom, 2 and 1/2 bath, restored 1951 single-level contemporary home with views of the ocean, city and mountains.
Located on Santa Barbara's Lower Riviera. Carefully remodeled and renovated to meet Title 24 energy needs without throwing away most of the original house. The home's original layout was not changed as to save on landfill space and continue the philosophy of recycling, saving & updating.
Featuring a 2850 watt utility connected Solar Electricity System, producing around 425 kwh/monthly. Providing more than 75% of the annual electricity load while reducing the home's Carbon Footprint by over 277 tons!
Further reducing Carbon Footprint the energy savings continue with 2 Rinnai Tank less natural gas water heater systems delivering on demand hot water with temperature controlled at the touch of a button. All new extremely energy efficient and quiet Anlin windows. A high efficiency Bryant heating & air-conditioning / Heat Pump system that regulates indoor humidity while being 93% efficient with "Hybrid Heat".
Tubular skylights add lots of natural sunlight to the kitchen, laundry and bathrooms and motion control indoor light switches controls heavy use hallways and bathroom lighting needs: turning on lights automatically when its dark enough upon sensing movement in the room or hallways.
Home Theater/Media Room housing a Mitsubishi 55 inch rear projection TV. and hard wired Onkyo HT-S907 XM Ready 7.1-channel home theater system. Seating for four in the included Leather Media Chairs, with cup holders! **
