| DepotEco.com is proud to offer you the next generation of lighting for your home by C. Crane. C. Crane’s LED bulbs are designed with standard light bulb bases (also known as Edison bases), so they’ll fit into just about any lighting fixture you already have. With just a little planning, you’ll be able to enjoy the benefits of LED lighting just about anywhere.
The best way to start using LED light bulbs is to try one bulb first. Swap a regular bulb on your porch, in a ceiling can, task or accent light, or maybe replace a bulb that you leave on at night. To get familiar with LED light bulbs, we recommend you experiment with different lighting combinations and see how their reduced light output works for you. Please share your successes and comments with us here on the blog. Thank you DepotEco.com Great Green Gift Ideas.. Congressman Ted Poe discusses Toxic Mercury in the CFL !! Must SEE! |

LED Energy EfficiencyHere’s how LED light bulbs compare to ordinary bulbs: A regular 40 Watt incandescent bulb burns through a lot more energy than it needs to produce the light you see. Remember those toy ovens that used an incandescent light bulb to bake brownies? A large percentage of the energy that goes into a 40 Watt bulb is wasted as heat – great for baking brownies, not so great for conserving electricity and saving money. LED light bulbs, on the other hand, generate very little heat as they glow, instead transferring most of their energy directly into light. The latest LED light bulbs now produce about the same amount of light per watt as compact fluorescent bulbs (CFL). However, unlike incandescent bulbs and CFLs, which splash light in all directions, LED bulbs are directional. They drive their light in one direction, so that you have light exactly where you want it. This directional lighting equals savings in yet another fashion. LEDs don’t waste light (energy) on areas you don’t need illuminated, which is also why they’re perfect task lights. Prior to the introduction of LED light bulbs, if you wanted to use a low watt (less than 4 watts) bulb for ambient lighting, you had to settle for a hard-to-find, expensive, incandescent light or an unsightly florescent. Current LED bulbs are designed to fit standard bases, range from 0.85 to 7.3 watts, and are made for low light situations. In addition to low wattage, you get the bonus of long life and energy efficiency, which all adds up to a 90% savings over standard bulbs. |

Here is a typical set up of ceiling cans. During the construction of a home, the number of cans contractors install is based solely on providing balance. After you have moved in and arranged your furniture, take a step back and dissect your room. Are there areas where you do not need or want the excess light produced by an incandescent bulb, such as in a can light over a window? Would low level lighting be more appropriate and desirable in that location? If so, then this is a great place for a Suns Dusk LED Accent Light Bulb. This energy efficient bulb provides ambience and brings dynamic lighting to a room, yet it looks like an ordinary bulb. With just a little planning you will have light where you need it and you will get paid back handsomely for you efforts – with a 90% savings on the bulb you replaced. |

Why LEDs?
LED light bulbs are so energy efficient that, depending on how often you have them on, they’ll actually pay for themselves in just over a year. The best way to conserve energy is to use less of it. LED light bulbs are directional – which means that they only put the light where you aim it or where you need it. Incandescent bulbs, on the other hand, just sit there and throw their glow all over the place – wasting electricity and generating heat. LED light bulbs run cool, so they’re safer to use than fragile, burning hot halogen and incandescent bulbs. LEDs turn on instantly – which has been a big benefit in car brake lights and is also a welcome feature when testing lights in a dark basement. LEDs do not use mercury like CFLs – so disposal concerns aren’t the same. Recent studies suggest that the light produced by LED light bulbs can help people stay more alert. | LED light bulbs are not like ordinary lights. Not only do they last thousands of hours longer than incandescent bulbs and cost less money to run, they also produce a cool white light that’s more pleasant around the house and at work.If you’ve got ceiling cans, take a look at where they aim their light. Do all those lights in the ceiling really need to be hot-burning, yellow lights? Or are there a few spots up there where it’s just the balance of fixtures that called for a can to be installed? If there’s a spot like that in your ceiling, it’s an ideal place to put an LED spotlight. With LED light bulbs you can create your own lighting design for your home. Best of all, when you install an LED light bulb you’re instantly saving money on your electricity. LED light bulbs are also perfect as that always-on light you use around your home. No matter how long you keep it on, it’s only warm to the touch (not burning hot like standard bulbs) and it won’t use a lot of electricity. | ||

LEDs and the FutureAs different states adopt different energy efficiency policies, you’ll see more and more incentives for using LED light bulbs in your home. Some states even offer rebate programs that might even help you offset the cost of installing LED light bulbs in more places throughout your home. Soon, LED light bulbs will be as bright as a standard 60 Watt bulb. Once we hit that threshold, the C. Crane Company will help light the way toward a more energy efficient, intelligently lighted America. |

C. Crane’s History with LED Light Bulbs
Back in 1997, C. Crane was the first company to introduce a flashlight that used two, bright White LEDs instead of your typical incandescent bulb. It was a revolution in lighting, and within just a few years thousands of people discovered the wonder of white LED flashlights.

Vibration Resistant
LED light bulbs bring a white light into a room. Unlike the yellow light we’re so used to seeing from incandescent bulbs, the white light cast by LEDs is closer to the color temperature of daylight. The white light of LEDs is easier on your eyes and also provides the added benefit of lifting your mood in the summer and winter time. The white light also mixes in wonderfully with ordinary lights around your home or workplace, and it’s a great light to read by.

Porch/Outdoor LED Lighting
LEDs emit monochromatic light therefore any harmful ultra-violet or infra-red light has been eliminated making them safe to illuminate paintings and other types of art. The bluish color of LED light bulbs adds a whole new and exciting dimension to artwork.

LEDs at Work
An LED light bulb can last you up to 60,000 hours. That averages out to 12 hours of light per day for 12 years.
LEDs have been around since 1962, and you’ve probably seen those little red and green bulbs in your radios, TVs and other electronics over the years. Everything changed in the world of LEDs when white LED bulbs were invented in 1993. The new white LEDs were so bright, in fact, that over here at C. Crane we figured they might just work in flashlights. So that’s what we did.
Today, C. Crane is bringing the same wonderment of an original LED flashlight to 120V standard bulbs that you can use around your home, workplace, or even outdoors. These bulbs are so energy efficient and durable. You can expect them to last up to 60,000 hours, so long you could pass them on to your grand kids. Their many benefits and long life span make LED light bulbs the new way to light your home and save money. available at DepotEco.com

We have LED Replacement lamps all over our home, in the Media room for great down lighting. In all of our high up cans. So we wont need to fiddle with a ladder again for years.. Also Outside we have replaced all of our Landscape and security lighting with LED’s.. What a huge drop on our electric bill.. !!!
And no Mercury ! Its frustrating to see the Electric Co’s and all of the Big Chain stores pushing CFL’s so hard but not dealing with the fact that they contain Mercury and really should not be in the home at all. Besides how do you remove them from service? It’s not legal to toss them in the Regular Trash in Ca.
And so far i don’t know of any Recycling effort to keep that Mercury out of the environment.
LED’s dot have this problem and are getting brighter and cheaper every day…

I’ve got the LED lights throughout my house took some getting used to and now I love them. I’ve definitely noticed a difference with my electric bill They are also great for showcasing my artwork.
I am now using them for display lighting in my store. Now i can leave the lights on all night and not feel bad. Also they don’t heat up the objects so they are very fire safe. Plus no UV light to fade or damage my stuff !

LEDs are a new way of life. You can put LEDs where I you need the light without burning yourself or starting a fire. You can go to sleep by flickering (LED) candle light or have the best reading light you have ever seen. I find myself asking, is it more cost effective to leave lights on than to invest in intelligent lighting control? It is easier and cheaper to use battery operated LED lighting in combination with rechargeable Eneloop batteries than to run wiring. CCRANE has a great chart showing that at current prices LEDs easily pay themselves off compared to other lighting. CFLs are really poison bullets that would not be cheap without subsidies. Let’s be green and use LEDs.

Congressman Ted Poe really covers it. CFLs are a scam. Someone is making a lot of money at our expense, while endangering our lives, AGAIN. Ask yourself would you want these fluorescents in your house during an earthquake or tornado? Not your biggest problem at that moment but the consequences could be serious. How about using CFL’s in your children’s room? Use LED lighting.

It isn’t just the mercury that is a problem in fluorescent lights. The light is unpleasant and doesn’t come on fully at first. There are continuing controversies about headaches and detrimental effects of the light.

LED lighting is safer, uses less electricity, is more durable, lasts longer, comes in colors, can work on a dimmer, and is more versatile because of less size, less weight, less heat.

I am amazed that no ones really talking about LED lamps. I have them in my house here and they have reduced my power bill ! CFL’s are bad…. Watch the You tube video above and you will understand.
Start using LED lamps. Drive the price down!!!.

I got one of the Z-bar desk lamps. http://www.depoteco.com/SPD/z-bar-led-desk-lamp-metallic-black-ll3001-mbk–990000-1203994555.jsp
The picture doesn’t do it justice. It is really excellent reading light that is easier to position than any other goose-neck or articulating mount. It includes a clamp as well as a weighted base. It runs cool and cheap with LED ilghts that don’t need to be replaced. It looks and feel like quality in every way. I am ordering another one at the sign in special price.

Good grief! what are people doing in Washington? – I just saw the CFL video by the congressman. When congress passes stupid legislation you can bet that someone is getting rich. I am sold on LEDs. It is amazing that you can only get them on line. I have had good service from DepotEco. It is easy to see why concrete stores are having trouble competing. I get more personal service and information by email from DepotEco than I can get in a warehouse store.

Recently I purchased a bunch of LED nightlights from DepotEco. My kids insist on having nightlights in their rooms for when they sleep and they just LOVE the changing colors…I think they are very cool also!! At night they give a very soothing feeling in the walkways of our home. It’s so great they they use so much less power than regular lights. I enjoy the feeling of security and no guilt about using up too much energy. Thanks to DepotEco for providing this type of product. Thanks also for your fact service and competitive pricing.

LED Christmas lights save a lot of electricity. You know what I mean if you have decorated heavily in the past. Some houses look like they must have incredible utility bills in December. The clear strings are good for yard lighting all year. Anyway that is my rational for ordering a lot of Christmas LED light this year. The flameless candles make a great effect in a group.
November 11th, 2008 at 7:43 pm
Converting even partially to LED lighting has saved a noticeable amount of electricity already. I find the light much easier to read and work with. Cooler means it goes places that an incandescent light could not. There are so many variations of lighting instruments with light more directional that you can put light virtually any where you want. Retrofit bulb replacements for old style sockets are useful but the old fixtures are designed to keep hot lamps from setting things on fire. The possibilities with cool lighting that lasts for years are just being explored.
