eneloop rechargeable batteries at Depoteco.com

People have asked me why we are selling Sanyo eneloop batteries on a green products e-commerce web site? That’s Easy. 1 eneloop = 1000 alkline batteries. And Sanyo has made sure they are recyclable. If you are in Santa Barbara bring in your old NiMH or other rechargeable batteries to 2941 De La Vina and we will recycle them for you. eneloops are the best all around NiMH rechargeable battery we have ever used, when we found them we decided to make a mission out of getting them to the public. They do cost a bit more than other brands of rechargeable batteries but they out last all of them by leaps and bounds. So eneloops are green because they help reduce the amount alkaline batteries in landfills polluting the earth.

Long Storage Life: Batteries have a property to release the stored energy in small amounts over time (self-discharge). Improvement in self-discharge characteristics enable eneloop to be “ready to use out of the package” and to have long shelf life. It keeps 85% of the initial charge after 1 year, so it can be used now or as an emergency battery.

  1. According to the EPA, Americans purchase nearly 3 billion dry-cell batteries every year resulting in harmful waste. Rechargeable batteries are a cost-effective way to reduce the waste stream. 1 eneloop replaces up to 1,000 disposable batteries.

3,000,000,000 batteries a year! How many do you suppose are in the Grand Canyon? How much does that weigh? How many truckloads? It is amazing how many people don’t get it. This technology is three years old to the consumer and still few people are talking about it in the media. I guess the media must be selling disposable batteries not news. Meanwhile DepotEco.com seems to be the only place to buy any Eneloop product that can be had in America.
DepotEco gets it. Sanyo gets it. Thank you DepotEco and thank you Sanyo. Think Gaia should be everyone’s slogan this year.

  2. What will it take for people to stop wasting money trashing the world with disposable batteries? I just don’t get it. Is there any reason besides avoidance of thought to explain disposable batteries? They should be taxed or have a return deposit. If you can charge an Eneloop a thousand times and they work three or four times as long as alkaline batteries – you figure it out…

  3. I keep Eneloop batteries on the boat all the time. The big Rayovac charger works great on the inverter and charges all the batteries we need.

  4. Wow, I’m so impressed with the ENELOOP rechargeable battery pack I bought from DepotEco. Being a new mom I am constantly having to put new batteries in my baby video monitor. I was frustrated with the expense not to mention the environmental issue of throwing the batteries away! Many thanks to DepotEco for providing this great product and for their fast service and very fair prices. I’m telling all my friends about this site and what they offer. Next I’ll be buying a wedding present and there is a great selection of recycled glass products they offer in their Fire and Light Collection. They are beautiful!!
Thanks again for your dedication to saving the energy of our precious planet!

  5. After buying three of the ENELOOP packs that were reviewed I have to agree that they are an excellent rechargeable battery. The compact chargers are great. I can’t see any reason to buy disposable batteries for 99% of things I use batteries in.

  6. LED, battery powered lights are really getting cheap and they run a long time on eneloops. Thank goodness that I had plenty of lights and batteries when the power failed for hours at a time for several days during the wildfires. Since I use the lights every day for accent and convenience lighting with different looks to match the decor, like old coach light with solar panel, candle LED, modern desk lamp, etc. There is no looking for a flashlight. My normal bedside light turns on with now power from the grid. The nightlights work in a blackout etc. Best of all the energy savings from not turning on the main lights when all I need is light to walk through is enough to buy the lights and the batteries. That equals more convenience, more safety, more emergency readiness, better lighting with the LEDs and saving money!

  7. Did you see the Candle Power Forums review of Eneloop rechargeable batteries that Jeep posted? I knew that I liked them. Why are people buying alkaline batteries? They tax disposable containers (redemption deposit), there should be a ten cent deposit on disposable batteries!

  8. I have been getting Eneloop rechargeable batteries a DepotEco. There is a better selection of Sanyo Eneloop batteries and accessories at competitive prices. After more than six months and maybe a dozen orders, there has been no problem and everything has arrived in a few days. After I learned to sign in before I made out an order, a level of discount you don’t get otherwise is revealed, and it is easy to make the free shipping limit.
Use flame-less candles and Eneloop batteries!!!

  9. That review of the Eneloop rechargeable batteries is really informative. I found LED replacements for old style flashlight bulbs somewhere here at DepotEco that work in some old flashlights that were battery hogs but good quality. The AA Eneloops in the C and D size adapters with the LED replacement bulbs work longer than the old lights with the larger batteries. I like it when old things still work. Now I watch yard sales and thrift shops for battery operated stuff like they used to make with screws so you can get in it. At Costco this week there was a huge island with alkaline batteries over head high and one little display of about fifty cards with Eneloop charger and battery kits. I realized how much more it cost for the alkaline battery mountain and that it would probably take a few dump trucks more to equal the one thousand it would take to replace each Eneloop battery. Eneloop batteries and LED light bulbs are two major items that can save a lot of waste as well as electricity. Make the change to save money and help the planet!

  10. Wireless lighting, finally! With Eneloop rechargeable technology and LED lights it is possible to have all the light I want without dragging power cords around, and at a lower cost than conventional lighting. Portable, affordable, convenient and safe. No more fossil fuel lanterns, hot light bulbs, mercury filled fluorescents, or wasted energy making unwanted heat. Lighting is catching up to other 21st century technology thanks to new battery technology like Sanyo Eneloop rechargeable batteries. With solar powered battery chargers and Eneloop ability to hold a charge over a year, off grid life is even better than before.

  11. I know what you mean about expensive batteries, I have a collection of LED candles. At four batteries each it takes 60 Double AA and 32 AAA batteries to light them all, it has already cost more for batteries than I paid for the candles. I love them but then I am always thinking about turning them off to save batteries and let them get really dim to get the last bit of power out. Someone gave me an Eneloop power pack and the batteries are all in my favorite candles so that I can use them all the time. By the holiday season I will have enough Eneloop rechargeables to have all my candles lit. It would be nice to have a light in every window all night long. The LED candles are safe and don’t make a mess. With the Eneloop rechargeables it really costs less than regular candles.

  12. It is less trouble to charge a few Eneloop batteries than to figure out which one-time batteries are good. If I don’t know about the Eneloop’s condition I just put it in a LED candle until it goes out then charge it. That way all my rechargeable batteries are ready and because they are Eneloop they stay that way over a year in the drawer. I think Eneloops cost about the same as two or three one-time batteries and recharge a thousand times, and they work in everything I have, camera, mouse, controlers and flashlights. Now I am bummed about Gadgets that do not use Eneloop sizes. Batteries can be so expensive.

  13. Eneloop rechargeable batteries are the greatest. It is amazing how many battery powered things that I have quit using because throwing out batteries all the time just felt bad. I have about a hundred Eneloops now, not all are in clickers, lights, toys etc. I like to keep some in reserve for emergency situations since Eneloops hold their charge so well. I don’t have to keep them in a charger to know they will work when I need them, even a year later. Leave on the radio, the flashlight, use those toys; nothing is greener then getting use out thing you have already with batteries you can use a thousand times. If I use my hundred Eneloops only a hundred times each then 10,000 one-time batteries won’t go to the dump. That Energizer Bunny is a major polluter! The DepotEco.com Eneloop packs with the compact charger that holds two or four AA or AAA batteries is a great gift for battery users and for the rest of the planet too!
