This is a perfect replacement switch for the Volcano Classic
This switch has a lamp in it, so it has 3 lugs on it. The switch lugs (Top and Center) look the same. The lamp connects from the center lug and the neutral that connects to the bottom lug, which is a different color. The neutral also connects to the lamp on the front of the unit.
The heater connects to the middle lug, and the hot to the top lug. If you swap the middle and top wires the unit will work, but your switch lamp will always stay on.
They use a security #8 torx screw on the back of the unit. Amazon sell very nice security torx bit sets. I used a pair of needle nose pliers the first time so I could get the part number off the switch. The manufacturer was no help at all.
I see some folks mention a rubber O ring. My 2009 model didn't use one, and this switch looks and fits like the original except for the 0 and 1 on the front of the switch. Since the reviews indicate these die at around 3 years, I bought both the green and the red switches.
